Finding duplicate files

Duplicate files waste storage across your accounts. Remoscope helps you find and eliminate them.

How duplicates happen

  • Copying files between accounts
  • Downloading and re-uploading
  • Multiple backups of the same folder
  • Shared files saved to your own Drive

Finding duplicates

  1. Go to Storage in the sidebar
  2. Click Duplicates
  3. Review files with the same name and size
  4. See which accounts contain each copy

Cleaning up

For each set of duplicates:

  • Decide which copy to keep (usually the original)
  • Delete the redundant copies
  • Consider if you need copies in multiple accounts
Tip: Duplicates are detected by filename and file size. Files with the same name but different content won't be flagged.
Be careful: Make sure you're not deleting a file that's shared with others who depend on it.
